SQUINZANO DOC ITALIAN WINE
These rosato and rosso Italian wine wines are made in the area between Brindisi and Lecce. The basis grapes used are Malvasia Nera and Sangiovese. The Rosato is a delicious and fulsome warm wine (minimum alcohol 12.5%) with a juicy and very modest taste Italian wine. Drinking temperature is 10-12°C (50-53.6°F) for this Rosato Italian wine. The Rosso is a full-bodied and robust wine with at least 12.5% alcohol. The best Riserva Italian wines are aged for two years and contain at least 13% alcohol. SALICE SALENTINO DOC ITALIAN WINE
Although only the Rosso and Rosato Salice Salentino are known outside of Italy, there are also a number of very pleasing white and superb sweet red wines made here. The Bianco (Chardonnay) and Pinot Bianco (may be augmented with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc) are fruity, fresh, and lively. Some young wines possess an unruly tingle to the tongue before they age. The taste is otherwise mild and approachable. Drinking temperature is 10-12°C (50-53.6°F) for these Italian wines.
A reasonable Pinot Bianco Spumante is also produced. The Rosato is fruity and fresh, dry and mellow, sometimes with a slight tingle on the tongue when young. There is also a Rosato Spumante. Drinking temperature is 10-12°C (50-53.6°F) for this Italian wine.
The Rosso is quite characteristic, robust, mellow, warm, full-bodied, and rounded. The best wines enjoy at least two years ageing and contain slightly more alcohol. Drinking temperature is 14-16°C (57.2-60.8°F) for this Italian wine.
COPERTINO DOC ITALIAN WINE
This is a superb Rosato from Primitivo, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Negroamaro, and Malvasia grapes. It is mellow, fulsome, and dry but certainly not harsh. Nose and taste are characteristic containing fruit and certain vegetal notes with a pleasing undertone of bitterness. Drink this Rosato Italian wine at 10-12°C (50-53.6°F). The Rosso is ruby red, diy, full-bodied, rounded, juicy, and velvet smooth. The Riservas are aged for a least two years and contain at least 12.5% alcohol. Drink at 14-16°C (57.2-60.8°F) but 16-17°C (60.8-62.6°F) for a Riserva Italian wine.
